The Children's Centre Committee of the University Women's Association is made up of women who bring varied professional and academic expertise and their talents and interests to this voluntary service. Among them are academics, librarians, educators, and medical personnel.

Prof. Virginia (Jill) Dike – Chair since 2002; chair of the library committee from 1978-2002; Secretary of the Children's Centre Committee, 1985-1992; university lecturer in library and information science (specializing in children's literature and school librarianship). Member of the library, prison library and schools outreach sub- committees; member of the equipment and playground development committees; financial secretary of UWA, 1976-79; treasurer, 1993-97. | Prof. Wilhelmina (Willi) Kalu – Immediate Past Chair , serving from the committee's inception in 1980 to 1996, and from 1999 to 2001, when she moved to the United States; chair of the original playground committee (1978-1980); initiator of the Motherless Babies Project; secretary of UWA, 1977-79 and president, 2001-2002. An educational psychologist and special educator in the Department of Educational Foundations, she founded the Psycho-Educational Testing Services (PETS) as a component of the Children's Centre in 2000 and continues to participate in its development.
